Thunder Development | Lightning Programs

Lightning Development Programs are offered to two age groups: 

Grade 5 & 6  | Girls and Boys
Grade 7 & 8 | Girls

Grade 5 & 6  | Girls and Boys
The intent of this Grade 5 & 6 program is to introduce young athletes to volleyball in a high energy, fun, and faced paced environment full of learning, best effort and some competition.

This program is the perfect choice for young athletes who want to explore volleyball in a safe and fun environment where best effort, making mistakes and learning are encouraged and embraced! 

This program will prepare athletes who are looking to join a 4v4 OVA rep team in the future.

Grade 7 & 8 | Girls

The Grade 7 & 8 Program is structured with 45 minutes of Volleyball Technical & Tactical learning followed by 60 minutes of structured game play. The first 4 weeks the coaches will mix the athletes into different teams each week; for the final 4 weeks the athletes will be placed into teams that they will compete in each week. 

The intent is to allow young athletes to experience the early stages of being on a team in volleyball and learning to work together to: give best effort, play with confidence and energy, have fun and compete hard.

This program will prepare athletes who are looking to join an OVA rep team in the future; 6v6 Rallyball or TLS.
